Exuding confidence that the Indian team will perform well in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament to be played in Ipoh (Malaysia) from March 9, the newly-appointed captain of the Indian hockey team Danish Mujtaba said a new chapter in Indian hockey is waiting to be written.
Pakistan’s national hockey coach Hanif Khan said he felt an overall sense of satisfaction with the preparations for next month’s Azlan Shah Cup.
Malaysia will open its campaign against South Korea in the 22nd edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup that will be held in Ipoh from March 9 to 17, 2013.
The national hockey team will play five matches ahead of the 22nd edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.
The 22nd edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup will be held at Ipoh from the 8th to 17th of March 2013.
As it stands defending champions New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, India and Malaysia have confirmed their participation in the tournament.
England, Holland and Germany who were invited have declined the invites, while confirmation is awaited from Spain, South Africa and South Korea, in that order.
The SAS is the world's longest run invitational tournament, dating back to 1983.
