Tournament favourites Australia opened their campaign on with a 4-1 demolition of England.
The Australians scored through Dylan Wotherspoon (15th minute), Blake Govers (19th minute), Aaron Kleinschmidt (28th minute) and Lachlan Sharp (39th minute) while Phil Roper scored for England in the 25th minute.
The Australians were on top of their game and in the 15th minute Daniel Beale weaved his way into the semi circle and relayed the ball to Wotherspoon who made no mistake placing it past goalkeeper George Pinner.
